Contact details and opening hours

Contact our reception staff on 02 6921 2016 to arrange an appointment. Once your details have been taken you will be asked to briefly state why you are attending e.g. "I have obsessive compulsive disorder" or "I'm feeling depressed". This allows our staff to place you with the psychologist best able to assist you.

No. A referral is not necessary for you to see a psychologist. However without a doctor's referral you will not be eligible for a rebate from Medicare.

If you are referred by your doctor with a registered GP Mental Health Treatment Plan you will be eligible for a rebate through Medicare for up to ten sessions in a calendar year. Alternatively, if you have private health insurance your fund may provide a rebate.

With the exception of autism assessments via referral from your paediatrician, there are no rebates available for any other comprehensive assessments.

Your lawyer/solicitor/barrister will need to provide the details of your legal situation in writing and the specific questions (terms of reference) they want the psychologist to consider when conducting the assessment.

A legal assessment takes up to four hours and will usually involve a clinical interview and then the administration of some tests. The psychologist will provide a comprehensive report usually within two weeks of the date of assessment.

If you are required to meet the costs of your assessment, payment is required on or before the day of assessment.

When you ring to make an appointment you will be asked to provide your WorkCover Certificate of Capacity from your doctor (medical certificate) as soon as possible. We will need this and also the details of your workers compensation insurer so that we can directly confirm your entitlements with your insurer. Normally under WorkCover regulations you are entitled to an initial six sessions with a psychologist. Further sessions may be approved on recommendation of your psychologist. As long as we have written approval from your insurer, they will meet the costs of your psychological treatment.

Like any health specialist, our services are in demand but an appointment is usually available within two to four weeks. However because we are very mindful of the need for you to be seen as soon as possible our staff will offer to include you on our waiting list.  This means that a much sooner appointment may be made available because someone has cancelled or changed their appointment.  If this occurs our staff will ring you to offer a sooner appointment which may suit you.
